So, after accidentally deeply offending my ride to the airport (I think he's forgiven me?), my roommate rescued me, driving me to the other side of DC so I could meet up with Sarah’s parents. I hopped in their plane and enjoyed a nice flight, across the snow-dusted clear-skied countryside, to Bloomington, Indiana! My only complaints about the plane were I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the relative volumes of all of the different in-flight communication, music, and air traffic control inputs into my headphones. So I just turned them all off and took a nap.
Once in Bloomington, Carly picked us up, and took us back to her apartment where I was able to don nicer clothes for the recital. As I waltzed into Auer Hall, I think I encountered one of my favorite moments of the entire weekend. The decision to come had been so fast, I had told less than a half-dozen people. Thus, when a good 40+ of Sarah and my friend’s saw me as I took my seat, the sheer number of double-takes was exhilarating. (Sarah, by the way, sounded beautiful.) After the show, and at church the next day, I felt so incredibly popular and loved. Even after all of these years of having an active social life and solid friendships, it still floors me to realize that this many people genuinely care about and like me!! It makes me want to be just that much nicer to all of them! (I love life!)
The investment in staying several extra days was definitely worth it. The spontaneity, independence, and overwhelming feeling that I was “at home” definitely made this one of the best weekends I’ve ever had.
Thank you everyone for spoiling me! I promise I’ll be back in August – but for now, the world is calling me to other adventures.

Carolyn,
I am so blessed to have been able to appreciate the great light that you are as a person since you were in second grade. It's about time your peers started seeing it too. You are a choice child of God and never forget it.
With love,
Sister K.
